Marta is a trial attorney committed to the representing individuals who have experienced trauma, loss and injury. Her practice includes a wide array of personal injury claims, including wrongful death, civil rights, products liability, medical malpractice, premise liability, insurance bad faith, employment and government liability claims. Marta has obtained substantial recoveries for her clients through settlement and trying cases to verdict. Marta works hard to make the legal process feel manageable and accessible to her clients.

REPRESENTATIVE CASES & RESULTS

  • Estate of Kleutsch v. Washington Department of Corrections (2020), $3.25 million dollar settlement for the wrongful death of Kleutsch while incarcerated due to medical malpractice of DOC staff.
  • W. et. v. Department of Health and Social Services (2021)- $1.9 million settlement for failure to remove child from home where she was subjected to sexual abuse.
  • Estate of Sims v. King County (2021), $4 million dollar settlement for wrongful death of Sims due to negligence of correctional facility to provide him with a lower bunk after he disclosed that he had a seizure disorder.
  • Estate of Michelle Sorensen v. State of Washington (2020), $4 million dollar settlement for wrongful death of Sorensen due to negligence of Washington Department of Transportation snowplow driver.
  • Wilson v. The Bar Association, LLC, Sluggo Brewing, LLC, et al.(2020) - $2.1 million settlement for dram-shop liability, representing the available policy limits.
  • V. v. Department of Health and Social Services (2019)- $1.5 million settlement for CPS’ failure to remove children from home where they were subjected to years of abuse and neglect.
  • Kelly v. Snohomish County(2017) - $4.1 million verdict for gross negligence of a county designated mental health professional as associated counsel.
  • Grech v. Thurston County (2017) – represented injured woman struck by police officer negligently passing her vehicle and T-boning her at a high speed; obtained $700,000 settlement.
